CROSSFIT COACH

CPR/AED/First Aid

Education: Bachelor’s in Geography - University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, Masters Fluvial Geomorphology - Univeristy of Illinois at Urbana Champaign

Athletic background: Soccer, Track and Field, Cross-country Skiing

Steve grew up in northern WI and graduated from UW-L in 2014. While attending school at UW-L, Steve began CrossFit at a local gym after needing a change from his previous regime and a recommendation from his brother. After graduating, Steve moved down to central IL to attend graduate school at Urbana-Champaign and immediately sought out a gym there. He was blessed enough to meet his future wife - Hannah - at one of the gyms, and their combined passion for the sport and competitive personalities have kept them continuously trying to better themselves. Steve started coaching in order to help fill-in for Hannah when she became pregnant with their daughter, Olivia. He soon found his love for being able to help other people find success and improvement in their lives inside and outside of the gym. Upon moving back to the La Crosse area, one of the first things Hannah and Steve did was seek out a new gym and were lucky to find an amazing and welcoming gym in Driftless CrossFit. Steve is glad to once again have an opportunity to help fellow members become better versions of themselves!
